Hello
My name is Kimberly and I am a mom, wife, businesswoman, childbirth educator, animal lover, food lover, diabetic, coffee addict and personal chef.

I’ve been married for almost 23 years and together we’ve raised four amazing children, all of whom we homeschooled. Our family is surrounded by animals—dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, a rabbit, and two horses—and we love spending time with them. Horseback riding is one of my new loves, though learning as an adult is a challenge!! I’m passionate about cooking, baking, and, of course, eating. Traveling is another joy of mine, and I’m so grateful to call the beautiful Pacific Northwest home. Life here is full of love, adventure, and delicious moments!
My Story
I love food. Every aspect of it. I love to pour through cookbooks, source the best ingredients, spend the time cooking and creating, and lastly (mostly?), I love eating it. Food has always been a central part of our family, everyone gathering in the kitchen while I make meals, talking and enjoying each other's company. Since the kids were born, we eat dinner together every evening, a ritual that I would be loathe to give up.

Our food journey began when I got pregnant with my first baby- I knew that I wanted to eat well and had a lot to learn. I read books and watched documentaries, scoured cookbooks and learned from anyone I could find who was an expert on healthy eating. As a natural progression, I learned about unhealthy cookware, chemical laden processed foods, pesticides and nutrient dense super foods, I read about sustainable farming practices and how to source fresh local food and to eat farm to table.

I became a diabetic shortly after our second was born, a disease that is inextricably linked to eating. I learned how to cook and eat in a way that worked to keep me healthy with my new diagnosis. I definitely wasn't going to sacrifice taste, so learned to tweak our eating so it worked for me as a diabetic and a lover of delicious food.

The next chapter in our food journal, was when my daughter started losing weight when she was 11 and had horrible stomach aches. After months of tests and seeing the best doctors, nobody could point to a cause. They were doing an experimental trial at Lucille Packard Children's Hospital, and we put her on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD). Her stomach aches disappeared and she was able to gain weight again. Food was her only medicine. We were gluten free/Paleo for years after, but have since transitioned to eating wheat and dairy again and the symptoms have never returned.

In search of better health and more control over my blood sugar, I have been a vegetarian, eaten a raw diet, done more than one Whole30, eaten extremely low carb, and of course, eaten a traditional diet. With each trial, I have explored recipes and found amazing meals- all of which I am happy to share with you so that your health goals can be met and exceeded, while enjoying every tasty step of the way.

We have had our share of bumps along the road, but have persevered and learned a lot because of them and I am happy to share everything I learned with you. If you are looking to improve your health, get *real* food on the table even though you are exhausted from everything else you are juggling or just need some weeknight help getting dinner on the table, message me!
